Shopify App Development

Custom Shopify apps, integrations and store automation — built by a team that has shipped them.

Shopify is a platform, not just a storefront

Once a store is doing real volume, the limits stop being design and start being operations: product data that has to be maintained by hand, systems that do not talk to each other, and work that scales with the catalogue instead of staying flat.

That is where an app earns its place. We build custom Shopify apps, integrate stores with the systems around them, and automate the repetitive admin work — inside the Shopify admin, where merchants already are.

What We Offer

What we build on Shopify

From a single-store custom app to a public App Store listing.

Custom Shopify app development

Public apps for the Shopify App Store or custom apps built for a single merchant — embedded in the admin, using Shopify’s own patterns so they feel native rather than bolted on.

Store and system integrations

Connecting Shopify to payment providers, ERPs, fulfilment, accounting and marketing platforms, so orders and inventory stop being copied between systems by hand.

Merchant-facing automation

Automating the repetitive store work — product data, listing quality, store SEO, bulk operations — inside the admin where merchants already work.

Performance optimisation

Store and app speed work: reducing the weight your app adds, fixing slow pages and keeping Core Web Vitals from degrading as the catalogue grows.

Shipped

A merchant-facing app, already in production

We built and shipped a merchant-facing Shopify app that automates store SEO and product optimisation directly inside the admin — the kind of repetitive catalogue work that quietly consumes a merchandiser’s week as a store grows.

It is the reason we talk about Shopify with specifics rather than in the abstract: the platform’s constraints, the review process and the performance trade-offs are things we have already been through.

How We Work

From store review to a maintained app

Four stages. The public-versus-custom decision happens first, because it changes everything after it.

01

Scope and store review

1 week

We look at your store, your data and what the app has to do, and decide early whether this should be a public App Store listing or a custom app for your store alone. The two have different build and review paths.

02

Build

4–10 weeks

Built against Shopify’s current APIs and admin patterns, embedded where merchants expect it, with the billing and permission model set up correctly from the start rather than retrofitted.

03

Review and launch

1–3 weeks

Installation, QA against real store data, and — for a public app — Shopify’s App Store review. That review is Shopify’s process, not ours, and the timing is theirs; we prepare the submission to pass first time.

04

Maintain and improve

Ongoing

Shopify ships platform changes and API version deprecations on a schedule. Apps that are not maintained break on that schedule, so this stage is not optional in practice.

Our engineers work agent-assisted through the build itself, which is how these timelines compress without cutting code review or testing.

FAQ

Questions we get asked first

Do we need a public App Store app, or a custom one for our store?

A custom app if the functionality is only for you — no App Store review, no public listing, faster to launch. A public app if you intend to sell it to other merchants, which adds Shopify’s review process and a billing model but opens a revenue line. We decide this in the first week, because it changes how the app is built.

How long does Shopify’s App Store review take?

Typically one to three weeks, but it is Shopify’s process and the timing is outside our control. What we control is the submission: building to their requirements from the start so the app passes without a round of rejections. Custom apps skip this entirely.

Will an app slow our store down?

It can, and many do. Work that belongs on the server should not run in the storefront, and anything that must run there needs to be lean. We keep the added weight measurable and watch Core Web Vitals, because a fast store that converts is the reason the app exists.

Can you work with our existing store and theme?

Yes. We build against the store you already run rather than asking you to re-platform or rebuild a theme. If something in the current setup will fight the app, we say so during the store review rather than after the build.

Who owns the app and the Partner account?

You do. The app is built in your Shopify Partner account and the code is yours, so you are not dependent on us to keep it listed or installed. We can maintain it, and most clients want that given Shopify’s deprecation schedule, but it is a choice rather than a lock-in.
